New Orleans on the Fringe
The New Orleans Fringe Festival, Nov. 16- 20, 2011 will be a five-day mind-blowing spectacle of 70 shows from New Orleans and all over the country performing at 34 venues throughout the city, primary in the Marigny and Bywater. Foodies Discuss Sustainability
In New Orleans, we favor real flavor. Our best cooks and chefs use fresh produce, meats, and dairy products in their dishes. That being so, it was natural for the Chef’s Collaborative National Summit on sustainable food lifestyles to be held here in the Big Eaty (pun intended).

Chef’s Collaborative Sustainability Summit

Cosmos for the Cure Fundraiser & Fashion Show
In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Plush Events—alongside Mynnye Chocolates, B Beauty Bar and JBW Styling—will host the third annual Cosmos for the Cure Fundraiser and Fashion Show on October 21st from 5:30 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at 628 St. Charles Avenue. All proceeds from this year’s benefit will go to the New Orleans affiliates of the Susan G. Komen.
The event will feature a fashion show, silent auction, 1 complimentary Cosmo with light hors d’oeuvres, empowerment speakers, free makeovers, and a special surprise performance. There will also be an opportunity for guests to register to participate in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure.
Don’t miss this special event. Cost is only $10 at the door.
Free Concert Series Feeds People Hungry for Good Music, Good Food, Good Art, and Good Times
In Louisiana, we don’t eat to live, we live to eat. For us, food is more than something to eat. It borders on being a sacrament, and life itself is the celebration.
Unfortunately, one in eight people is struggling with hunger in our community. Because food and life are valued so highly here, Hancock Bank and Whitney Bank have teamed up with the Second Harvest Food Bank to fight hunger by staging a fun(d)raiser that is all NOLA.
